Lake Constance region: An overview

Geographical delimitation

The Länder and cantons Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Principality of Liechtenstein, Schaffhausen, St.Gallen, Thurgau, Vorarlberg as well as Zurich build the Lake Constance region.

This region is heterogeneous. Besides the Great Region of Zurich of international importance, there are five agglomerations - Constance/Kreuzlingen, Friedrichshafen/Ravensburg/Weingarten, Singen/Schaffhausen/Radolfzell, St.Gallen and Winterthur- of national importance. Besides these, there are regional centers such as Bregenz/Dornbirn or Feldkirch/Bludenz of regional importance.
